The Boys and Girls Club presents "How to Eat Like a Child," a one-act musical review directed by Jerry McDonnell, at Kenai Peninsula College Friday and Saturday and Aug. 11 and 12 at 7 p.m. and Aug. 6 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for seniors and students. Events and Exhibits

The Soldotna Animal Hospital is featuring quilted wall hangings by Jan Wallace through August.

Kaladi Brothers is featuring the quilts of Connie Goltz through August.

The Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center displays ethnographic material from the Athabaskan, Yup'ik Eskimo and Aleut cultures. Admission is $3. For more information, call 283-1991.

The Kenai National Wildlife Refuge Information Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. The center is located on Ski Hill Road near the intersection of the Sterling Highway and Funny River Road in Soldotna. For more information, call 262-7021.

Birch Tree Gallery offers several watercolors by Anchor Point artist Peggy Hunt; wearable art items by Lila Krohn, Nancy Engle and Kathleen Logan; spruce burl furniture by Bob Kuiper; silver and gold jewelry by Tami Marsters; baskets by Kim Hyde and Pat Morrison; fox-trimmed slippers by Stephanie Neering; pottery by Libby Berezin, Elizabeth West and Peggy Thompson; and stained glass by Joyce Getchell, Rob Jolly and Lisa Carlon.

Old Town Village Restaurant features historic pictures of the early days in Kenai.

Some of Soldotna's earliest homestead cabins, the Territorial School and wildlife exhibits can be seen at the Soldotna Historical Society's Homestead Museum on Kalifornsky Beach Road Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.


The Tustumena Lodge in Kasilof will present a Millennium Hat Party Saturday featuring Kurt Eriksson, Mike Morgan and the Baked Alaskans.

Veronica's will feature Mike Morgan and Friends on Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Rainbow Bar presents the Hollywood Creation All-Male Revue on Aug. 10. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.

The Vagabond presents music by Ten Cent Zen on Friday and Saturday, both starting at 10 p.m.

George's Casino features music by a DJ starting at 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

The Maverick Club presents karaoke Mondays and Thursdays at 9 p.m.

The Rainbow Bar in Kenai will have a fish fry on Sunday at 3 p.m.

The Old Town Village Restaurant will feature Mike Morgan at 6 p.m. Friday.

The Riverside House presents "After 10," a dance party, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. DJ Ian will play favorite Top 40 dance music until 5 a.m.

Kaladi Brothers presents the music of Rondi Marsh on Friday starting at 6:30 p.m. and Nancy Anderson on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

Upcoming Events

Lasting Stitches will host Sew Saturday at The Old Town Village Restaurant at 9 a.m. Aug. 12. Bring a sewing machine, project and supplies. Space is limited; call 283-9470 for reservations. The cost is $15 for morning snack and lunch.

Winged Sprint Cars from Kenai, Soldotna, Wasilla, Palmer, Fairbanks, North Pole and Delta Junction will be featured Aug. 18 at the Alaska Sprint Tour at Twin City Raceway.

Writing in the Wilderness will be held Aug. 21-29. It is a creative writing workshop that takes place on a trip down the Copper River. The teacher is University of Alaska Anchorage creative writing instructor Marybeth Holleman, a nationally published nature writer and author of "Alaska's Prince William Sound." Down the Road

The William Henry Gallery will exhibit Cordova artist David Rosenthal and his land and seascape oil paintings of Alaska and the Antarctic through August. The artist will present a slide program and discussion on Friday at 3:30 p.m. with a reception following.

The William Henry Gallery presents an outdoor "Saturday Art a-Fair" from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each Saturday throughout the summer. Artists will paint and display work for sale on the deck and grounds in front of the gallery.

The Pratt Museum presents "River of Bears," which will run through summer.

Anchorage Events

The Imaginarium is a science discovery center located at 737 W. Fifth Ave. Hours are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. For more information, call 276-3179.
