Soldotna resident Mabel M. Bigsby died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at the Heritage Place in Soldotna of natural causes.
She was 90.
A memorial service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Monday at the Heritage Place. Minister Robert Devolld will officiate.
She was born Nov. 16, 1910, in Fort Covington, N. Y. She was a resident of New Hampshire before moving to Alaska in 1990. She had resided in both Homer and Soldotna. Mrs. Bigsby was a faithful member of the Kenai Christian Church. She enjoyed spending her time knitting, sewing, and painting.
"Mabel was a much loved friend. Her wit, humor and energy were unmatched. Her creative energies never seemed to diminish and her desire to share kindness never ceased," her family said.
Mrs. Bigsby was preceded in death by two children; Arthur Bigsby, in January 1999, and Emily Quinn, in January 2001.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Milton and Eva Bigsby of Bellaire, Mich., eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
