Twins bumped from tourney

Posted: Tuesday, August 03, 2004

The Kenai American Legion Twins baseball team saw its season end Monday with an 8-3 loss to West in the Alaska American Legion State Championships in Anchorage.

"The kids played real well. We just made a couple of mistakes and we're headed home early," said Twins head coach John Kennedy.

The Twins lost their tournament opener to Bartlett Sunday, and the loss to West knocked them out of the double-elimination tournament.

The Twins led early in Monday's game, taking a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but West pounded out five extra-base hits, including two home runs, to take the lead.
