Randall Martin Walstrand of Eureka, Calif., died Sunday, July 24, 2005, from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident in Homer. He was 17.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 29, 2005, at Glacierview Baptist Church in Homer.
Randall was born Sept. 26, 1987, in Homer. He moved to Chandler, Ariz., when he was 3.
"It was there he obtained his faith in God and took his first steps on the basketball court," his family said.
He then moved to Eureka in 1997.
"Randall lived an extreme lifestyle, and was a well known and respected 'baller.' Randall's heart was made of gold, and he has left countless friends behind. 'Love' and 'forgiveness' were Randall's marks here on Earth, and he would want us all to live our dreams. We all loved Randall very much and will forever miss his loving touch in our lives," his family said.
He is survived by his parents, Roland P. Jones of Kenai and Linda J. Walstrand of Eureka; brothers, Richard A. Gregoire of Homer and Casey Jones of Coos Bay, Ore.; sisters, Kayanna Walstrand of Eureka and Sarah Jones and Tia Jones, both of Kenai; and grandparents, Paul E. Jones and Violet N. Mack; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the Kenai Peninsula.
Arrangements were made by Homer Funeral Home.
