ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A Copper Center teen died early Thursday after an early morning vehicle accident.
Alaska State Troopers said Kara Joe was driving on a local road in Copper Center at about 2 a.m. when she apparently lost control of her 1999 Ford Explorer and overturned.
Joe, 17, was partially ejected from the vehicle and sustained major head trauma, according to troopers. She was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical technicians.
Four other people in the vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Troopers said alcohol and speeding are believed to be factors in the accident.
