Area chambers set schedules

Sheilah Margaret Pothast with the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Aspirations program and the Kenai Peninsula Orchestra will speak at noon Tuesday at the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce luncheon at the Riverside House in Soldotna.

Fair seeks sponsors, donations

The Kenai Peninsula State Fair is seeking businesses and individuals to sponsors for its annual Kenai Racing Pigs event. Volunteers are needed.

Donations of woodchips, a small wooded boat, lattice, bird feeders, fountains and paint are still needed.

The fair will be held Aug. 19 through 21 in Ninilchik.

Expo comes to peninsula

The Small Business Development Center will hold its sixth annual Kenai Peninsula Small Business Expo from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Alaska Christian College in Soldotna.

Workshop topics will be:Banking and source of capital; Alaska state personal laws and employers programs; rewards of running a business; and customer service. The cost of admission is $25 and includes lunch.

Riddell transfers to Kenai

Wells Fargo has named Andrew Riddell as its new business banking relationship manager for its Kenai branch.

Riddell has worked as community banking president, as a management trainee and as the business banking relationship manager for Valdez and Soldotna.

Industry nominations sought

The Industry Appreciation Day committee is seeking nominations for companies and individuals to be honored at the annual Industry Appreciation Day scheduled for Aug. 27 at the Kenai Green Strip Park.
