4-H work days set

Work days for area 4-H clubs have been scheduled for today through Saturday at the Ninilchik Fairgrounds. Kenai Peninsula Junior Market Livestock members are required to attend two of the days in order to be eligible to sell their animals at the livestock auction at the fair.

Work projects will include painting picnic tables and trash cans, removing rocks, cleaning out barns and trimming the horse and hog areas. For more information, call (907) 567-3670.

Clothes give away planned

The First Baptist Church in Soldotna will sponsor Clothes 4-U giveaway from noon to 4 p.m. every Saturday in August at the church at 119 Little St. For more information, call 262-4304.

Auction, dinner fund-raiser set

A Chinese auction and spaghetti feed will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday at the 4-Lands Bar in Nikiski. Proceeds will benefit Elizabeth Sanders to help defray medical costs from a leg injury.

Golf tourney fund-raiser planned

Isom's Cafe, in conjunction with Bird Homestead Golf Course, will sponsor a nine-hole golf tournament to benefit the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank at 1 p.m. Sunday. There will be a shotgun start. Interested community members may register their own teams, or the golf shop can help put a team together. For more information or to register, call 260-4653.

Garage sale fund-raiser slated

The Kasilof Community Church will hold its annual garage sale fund-raiser from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Aug. 13 at the church on the corner of Kalifornsky Beach Road and the Sterling Highway. For more information, call 262-4260.

Safe sitter classes slated

Central Peninsula General Hospital will hold Safe Sitter classes from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 11 and 12. Children must be 11 years old at the time of class and must preregister. The cost is $50 per student and includes all class material. For more information, call Michelle McKay at 714-4775.
