ANCHORAGE (AP) -- CIRI shareholders with the typical 100 shares will receive an $838 dividend on Sept. 28.
The board of Cook Inlet Region Inc., the Anchorage regional Native corporation, announced the third-quarter dividend last week.
The policy is to pay 35 percent of the average profit for the prior five years, the company said. The fall payout for the corporation's 7,000 shareholders totals $5.9 million.
CIRI has been distributing regular dividends to its shareholders since 1980. With the September payout, CIRI dividends will have totaled $728 million since its inception, the company says.
CIRI is one of 13 regional corporations established under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act.
