The Kenai Community Library will host the following events and groups throughout the month of August:
The Totem Tracers Genea-logy Society will meet Aug. 29. Anyone wanting help with genealogical research can approach Totem Tracers volunteers during Research Saturday, Aug. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m.
The Kenai Book Club will meet Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. The group will discuss "Something of Myself" by Rudyard Kipling. New members always are welcome.
The Writers' Group will meet Aug. 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room. Anyone interested in writing for pleasure or profit is welcome to attend.
The Film Club will meet Aug. 16 at 6:30 p.m. The group will choose between two films -- "Walking and Talking," a comedic examination of two women's friendship, directed by Nicole Holofcener, and "Color of Paradise," a drama about a young blind boy in Tehran.
A beginning Internet class will be offered Aug. 12 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The class will cover basic Internet skills and searching techniques. Registration is required.
For more information on any upcoming library events, call 283-4378. The library will be closed Aug. 31 to Sept. 2 for Labor Day.
