ANCHORAGE (AP) -- An Akiak teen-ager has been charged with attempted murder in the weekend shooting of a man who caught him breaking into a bingo hall, Alaska State Troopers said.
The 15-year-old boy fired twice at Demien Sigler shortly before 7:30 p.m. Saturday, troopers said.
Sigler, 30, was hit in the back but his wounds are not life-threatening, trooper spokesperson Greg Wilkinson said. He said Sigler was shot from a distance.
The boy was found about 8:45 p.m. that night at a local fish camp, where he was arrested on a charge of first-degree attempted murder, Wilkinson said.
The boy's name has not been released. He is being held at the Bethel juvenile facility.
