Collin Cloud threw a complete-game three-hitter in leading Bartlett to a 6-5 victory over the American Legion Twins Sunday in the American Legion Alaska state tournament at Mulcahy Stadium in Anchorage. The loss in the double-elimination tournament ends the Twins' (24-21) season. Jake Lamphier started for the Twins and surrendered four runs (three earned) on two hits, six walks and three hit batters through five innings. Larsen Kohler then pitched the final four innings, scattering two runs on four hits and two walks.
"Overall it was a good season. The guys were naturally disappointed with the way it ended but we told them they had a good year," Twins' coach John Butler said. "We played a lot of games shorthanded and they never gave up.
"More important than the wins and losses that they had this year is that this is just a great group of young men."
