2 red tomatoes, each cut into 6 wedges

Since last month's lifting of the Food and Drug Administration's salmonella warning against tomatoes, people have begun to feel safe about eating tomatoes again. This colorful salad, made with three kinds of tomatoes, is a great way to bring tomatoes back to the table.

2 yellow tomatoes, each cut into 6 wedges

4 cups grape or cherry tomatoes, halved

1/2 red onion, cut into paper-thin slices

1/4 cup thinly sliced fresh basil leaves

1/4 cup chopped flat-leaf parsley

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

1 tablespoon basil-flavored olive oil

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

Toss together all of the ingredients in a serving bowl. Serve at once or let stand at room temperature up to 30 minutes.
