Woman raped in Anchorage park

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A woman was raped in an Anchorage park Sunday morning, according to police.

The woman was walking alone in an east Anchorage park about 8 a.m. in the morning when she met up with a man riding a bicycle.

The man later came from behind her and held a revolver to her head, police reported. He forced her into the bushes and raped her there.

The woman was from out of town, and was visiting friends in the city, according to KTUU-TV.
