Too many bears; season needed

Posted: Thursday, August 07, 2003

Does it ever occur to the Department of Fish and Game that the reason there are so many bears being killed in self defense is that the population is exploding?

A season needs to be opened so this doesn't happen year after year. Don't the moose being killed by the bears even give the department an idea that maybe there are too many alive right now? What about all of the encounters?

Fish and Game needs to get its act together. There are too many bears to not have a season.
