NOME (AP) -- An Elim man was charged with multiple offenses Monday after starting a fire and pointing a gun at people, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Martin Saccheus, 18, was charged with arson, assault, burglary, criminal mischief and theft.
Saccheus was drunk when he pointed a shotgun at two people, burglarized a store, shot a television, killed a puppy, set fire to his home and fled on a stolen four-wheeler, troopers said.
Local firefighters put out the fire.
Saccheus later returned to his home and barricaded the windows and doors, troopers said. Family members and Nome troopers persuaded him to give up his gun and surrender.
Saccheus was arrested and transported to Nome. On Thursday, he was being held without bail.
