Sheep hunting on the Kenai Peninsula

Game Management Units 7 and 15 on the Kenai Peninsula have open seasons for sheep. Sheep are legal to hunt from Aug. 10 through Sept. 20.

In Unit 7:

In the area east of the Fuller Lakes Trail near Cooper Landing, south of Dike Creek and west of a line from the headwaters of Dike Creek south the the Sterling Highway, and north of the Sterling Highway, harvest permits are available to take one full-curl ram and a ewe may be taken by drawing permit.

South of the Sterling Highway, west of the Seward Highway and north and east of Kenai Lake, a drawing hunt is available for one full-curl ram or one ewe.

n In the remainder of Unit 7, a harvest permit is available to take one full-curl ram.

In Unit 15:

In Unit 15A east of the Fuller Lakes Trail near Cooper Landing, south of Dike Creek and west of a line from the headwaters of Dike Creek south the the Sterling Highway, and north of the Sterling Highway, harvest permits are available to take one full-curl ram and a ewe may be taken by drawing permit.

In the remainder of Unit 15, a harvest permit is available to take one full-curl ram.

Horns must accompany meat from the field and nonresident hunters must be accompanied by a guide.
