Kenai resident Martha Rose (Goodwin) Hurley died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, in Alaska. She was 67.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, in Flint Township, Mich., with the Rev. Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Mrs. Hurley will lie in state at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home from 1 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 8.
Mrs. Hurley was born on March 24, 1937, in Flint, the daughter of John and Evelyn (Oliver) Goodwin. She graduated from Flint Technical High School and worked as an airline stewardess. She traveled extensively as a serviceman's spouse and had a network of friends around the world.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Patrick Hurley; and brother, John M. Goodwin.
She is survived by her son, Robert S. Hurley of Washington; grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Johnson Hurley and Tara Hurley; brothers, David and Janet Goodwin of Flushing, Mich., and Michael and Eiko Goodwin of Pensacola, Fla.; sister-in-law, Diane Goodwin of Burton, Mich.; nieces, Lisa (Jesse) Trevino of Chicago, Jennifer Goodwin and Dina Goodwin, both of Flushing; and friend, Pete Castel of Kenai.
