Teens vandalize more than 60 cars in Anchorage

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Police arrested five teenagers suspected of vandalizing more than 60 cars and trucks early Wednesday.

Police said the teens broke vehicle windows, burned two of the cars and tried to burn a parked police car, KTUU TV in Anchorage reported. Police said the teenagers used fireworks to do much of the damage during the spree that took place in Spenard, Muldoon and Government Hill neighborhoods.

The five suspects were arrested before 6 a.m. Wednesday. Police said the teens range in age from 13 to 19.

Police said a cell phone caller led them to the suspects.
