Speaker scheduled at MS luncheon

Karlene Lela Muller will speak at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Self-help Group monthly meeting today. The group will meet at noon at the Central Peninsula General Hospital Augustine Room. Lunch will be provided by Subway of Soldotna. For more information, call Barb Johnson at 262-8395.

Guided nature walk planned

The Kenai Watershed Forum presents a free willow identification walk with area naturalist and author of several willow guides, Dominique Collet, today at 1 p.m. Some agility is required due to stairs along the trail. Interested persons should meet at the Kenai Peninsula College parking lot. To register, call 260-5449.

Low-cost spay/neuter clinic slated

The Alaska Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will hold its Low-cost Spay/Neuter Clinic Aug. 17-20.

Low-cost vaccinations are available Aug. 17, 18, and 19 from noon to 4 p.m. No appointments are necessary for vaccinations. To schedule a surgery appointment, or for more information, call Nancy Wall at 262-1624.

New allergy group to meet

The Peninsula Allergy Network, a newly formed support group, will meet today at Bridges in Soldotna at 6:30 p.m. Interested persons are encouraged to participate in sharing their allergy stories, recipes and needs. Scalzi to speak at public meeting

Rep. Drew Scalzi, R-Homer, and Deputy Commissioner Larry Persily of the Alaska Department of Revenue will speak today at 6 p.m. at the Land's End Resort in Homer. Blood drive in progress

The Blood Bank of Alaska's Kenai Peninsula Center is holding a blood drive. Persons wishing to give blood can visit the Blood Bank's office in the Blazy Mall in Soldotna or call 260-5672.
