A carousel reflecting Alaska's wildlife is open for business along the Sterling Highway on the outskirts of Soldotna. The amusement ride features a moose, caribou, walrus, bear and fish carved by Kenai Peninsula woodcarvers Scott Hansen, John Iverson and Billy Meyer, and Scott Thompson of Anchorage. Wildlife scenes were painted by Thompson, and decorative graphics were done by Anna Decker. The steel carousel chassis was made by Mackey Lakes welders Alvin and Earl Pierce.
