Child care course offered
The Boys and Girls Club in Kenai will hold a child care class today through Friday. Class topics cover basic child care and safety, as well as ways to entertain children safely.
Participants must between the ages of 11 and 13 and current summer members of the club. Summer membership is $125 per month, per child. The sitter class is an additional $50. Space is limited.

Health services collaborative to meet
The Health Services Opportunities Collaborative will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Kenai Public Health building.
The collaborative meets monthly to consider ways to improve access to health care for the uninsured and underinsured.
Its goal is to achieve better communication and health-care services for those in need. All interested agencies and the public are invited to attend.

SMS registration slated
Soldotna Middle School will hold registration Thursday for incoming seventh-graders and Friday for incoming eighth-graders.
Registration times are as as follows for both days: last name A through L 9 to 10:30 a.m. or 4 to 5:30 p.m., and last name M to Z 10:30 a.m. to noon or 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Parents are reminded that all lockers are preassigned, class schedules are complete and there isn't any advantage to being first to register. For more information, call 262-4344.
Head Start accepting applications
Sterling Head Start is accepting applications for the 2005 school year. It is open Tuesday through Friday and offers two classes: a morning class from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and an afternoon class from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Children ages 3 to 5 are eligible.
