nowhere left to go
returning salmon circle
to dodge snagging hooks
floating insect drops
ripples the mountain's mirror
just before the trout
rhythmic padding feet
softer than the pounding heart
bear's midnight visit
ragged pinnacles
stretching ad infinitum
insignificance
pale, shaking leaf backs
warning of the coming squall
hands trembling in fear
