Teen assaulted after car problems

ANCHORAGE (AP) A 17-year-old girl who stopped near Wasilla with tire problems Thursday was sexually assaulted by four men who pulled over offering help.

According to Alaska State Troopers, the young woman stopped near Mile 7 of Knik-Goose Bay Road around 4:15 p.m. Thursday.

A newer-model silver four-door sedan, possibly a Chevrolet Cavalier, with four males inside pulled up behind the woman, said trooper spokesman Greg Wilkinson. The driver of the sedan got out of the car, walked over to the teen and asked if there was something he could do to help, Wilkinson said.

About that time, one of the men in the back seat of the sedan leaned out the window and waved the woman over to him.

''She walks over to the car,'' Wilkinson said. ''The driver is behind her and pushes her into the car.''

Five or six minutes later, a passer-by stopped and asked if everything was OK.

The men in the sedan told the woman everything was fine, Wilkinson said, and then let the victim go.

All four of the men were described as being white with pale complexions, short hair and between the ages of 17 and 19.
