The news of the tragic bridge collapse in Minneapolis created apprehension for many of us Kenai Peninsulans who have relatives in the Twin Cities area. The collapse was followed by TV talking heads wondering about the "mystery" of a 40-year-old concrete bridge that has had probably up to 10 times more traffic than it was built for and severe Minnesota winter weather, to boot, to make it age before its time.
Before 9/11, there would have been no mention of "terrorism" being a factor in its collapse. In our unfortunate post-9/11 victim mentality, every time something like this happens, some will ask if terrorism was a factor.
The very fact that terrorism is even mentioned gives credence to a relatively small network of Islamofascist anarchists. We must not give in to fear and/or the idea that "terrorists are everywhere."
