I have been a patron of the Soldotna Public Library since I was a little girl and I have been a cardholder since I was 6 years old -- way back when Mrs. Bishop was the head librarian, and well before the first expansion!
And now the time has come to expand our beloved library once again.
At a recent meeting of the Library Board, Terri Burdick, Head Librarian of Soldotna Public Library, reported that the library served almost 94,000 patrons over a 12-month period, with more than 98,000 items circulated during that same time. If you've ever been at the library and noticed that it was difficult to find a parking spot, or that book you wanted to read was checked out, this is why!
Our library is the heart of our community. That is why you should support the Soldotna Public Library by joining the Friends of the Library, by serving on the Library Board, by volunteering your time reading stories or stocking shelves, and most importantly by giving the library your vote on Oct. 5.
Voting yes on Proposition 1 will authorize the city of Soldotna to issue bonds that will be used fund the expansion of our library.
