Homer halibut derby standings

Following are the August standings as of Tuesday in the Homer Jackpot Halibut Derby:

1- Acsinia Rvetov, Anchorage, 300.6 pounds. Caught Sunday aboard Luxury Charters' Quintessence, Dale Seekins, skipper.

2- Colin Ocker, Houston, Texas, 296.4 pounds. Caught Monday aboard Silver Fox Charters' Silver Fox 6, Dan Rathert, skipper.

3- Emory Goodman, Ocean Shores, Wash., 244 pounds. Caught Monday aboard Silver Fox Charters' Ultimate, John Nicholson, skipper.

4- Dan Spence, Bozeman, Mont., 218.4 pounds. Caught Monday on Alaska Premier Charters' Pinnacle, Travis Larson, skipper.

5- Greg Haury, Visalia, Calif., 141.4 pounds. Caught Monday aboard Alaska SeaKatch Charters' SeaKatch, Jim Vandersanden, skipper.

David Chaparro of Chicago continues to top the overall derby standings with a 337-pound flatfish caught July 9.

Homer Jackpot Halibut Derby officials announced that Dale Alexander of Goldendale, Wash., caught a $1,000 tagged fish Wednesday aboard Captain Greg's Charters' Tomahawk II, Greg Sutter, skipper. The fish was not weighed, but measured 30.75 inches.
