Longtime Sterling resident Margo Keating, 57, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, after a six year battle with cancer at Central Peninsula Hospital with her husband and children by her side.
Per her wishes, no services are planned.
Mrs. Keating was born Sept. 12, 1952 to Don and Betty Zuroff in Vernonia, Oregon. The family moved to Alaska in 1956, homesteading off K-Beach road.
She met her future husband, John Angus Keating, at the Alaska Skill Center. They were married in Anchorage in 1974. They had two children there, Sean and Marjie. The family moved to Sterling in 1985 and she devoted herself to her family.
Mrs. Keating was preceded in death by her father, Don and a brother Tod.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, John; son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Destiny; daughter, Marjie; grandchildren, Addison and Kaleb; her mother, Betty Zuroff; brothers, Perry Zuroff and Gerald Liestman; many nieces and nephews, including, Rebecca Belcher and husband, James, Daniel and Ian; and brother-in-law, Dennis and his wife, Rose Ann.
Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
