ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Shell Oil Products plans to convert up to 21 Texaco stations in the Anchorage area to the Shell brand as part of a national re-branding effort.
The company expects to complete the conversion process in Anchorage by the end of the year and nationwide by June of 2004. Stations should remain open through the conversion process, the company said.
In addition to changes in signs, Texaco credit cards will be replaced with Shell credit cards.
Texaco sold its interest in gas station and refinery joint ventures to Shell for about $2 billion last October. The transaction paved the way for Chevron's takeover of Texaco.
