Power outage hits downtown Kenai

A power outage affected much of downtown Kenai for approximately 25 minutes Thursday.

According to Home Electric Association spokesperson Joe Gallagher, the outage occurred at 4:55 p.m. when an underground cable along Walker Lane near McDonald's failed.

An HEA crew restored power to much of the affected area, including Main Street Loop and the Kenai Spur Highway, by 5:20 p.m. and the Walker Lane area got power back around 6:40 p.m.
