Critical incident plans prepare schools for crisis

Posted: Sunday, August 13, 2006

The safety and well-being of all students in the educational system is a top priority of the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District.

Planning is necessary to effectively deal with an emergency or other crisis situation.

A structured plan ac-knowledges this, allows for control over an emergency or crisis situation and minimizes the impact of the emergency.

The district has developed a critical incident plan for response to emergency situations.

Copies of the district’s plan are available for public review at each school’s office, at the district central office or on the school district’s Web site at www.kpbsd. k12.ak.us.

For more information, call the central office at 714-8888.
