Salmon Derby ticket holders welcome

Those who purchased Seward Silver Salmon Derby tickets can benefit at the Alaska SeaLife Center. Ticket holders simply need to show their tickets at the Discovery Shop to receive a free thermal mug with any purchase of $20 or more, while supplies last until Sunday.

Ticket holders also can sign up for a new membership or renew a current membership and save up to $20.

First pinks turned in

The first pink salmon from the center's salmon genome project was turned in at the center last week. The two fishers who turned in the two pinks, one male and one female, have been entered in the drawing of $1,000. The drawing will be conducted at the end of September. The collection sites are Kenai Fjords National Park building in the small boat harbor and the loading dock at the center.
