ANCHORAGE Anchorage police were searching Wednesday for a man who forced his way into a trailer home and robbed the residents, hitting a 54-year-old woman over the head with a gun.

The woman called police about 6:40 p.m. Tuesday to report that a man wearing a blue bandanna over his face had burst into her home as she was about to lock the front door.

The man chased her into a back bedroom and hit her on the head with the gun, causing a deep cut, police said.

He demanded cash from the woman and her daughter. They told him they didn't have any money, but to take whatever he wanted, police said.

The man grabbed a cell phone and ran out of the trailer.

The robber is described as a thin white man with short dark hair, about 20 years old, standing about 5-feet, 10-inches tall. He was wearing a yellow rain jacket.
