HOMETOWN: Pittsburgh

LIVES: Pittsburgh

JOB: Car owner for the No. 40 Target and No. 41 Coors Light Dodges driven by Jimmy Spencer and Sterling Marlin, respectively

2001 RECORD: Marlin won two races and leads the NASCAR Winston Cup Series points standings. Spencer has two top-five finishes and is 26th in the standings, despite missing two races.

PERSONAL NOTES: Made a controversial and disastrous gamble last week at Watkins Glen, N.Y., by creating a third team for the road course race. He put Scott Pruett in Spencer's car and Spencer in the third car. The plan counted on Spencer's making the starting lineup on speed and gave Pruett a provisional exemption based on car owner points if he needed it. Spencer failed to make the race, and Pruett finished fourth.
