Danielle Marie Thomson and Douglas Robert Carter were married Saturday, July 10, 2004, in an evening ceremony in the bride's parents' backyard in Nikiski. Kelly King, best friend of the bride and groom, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Donald and Jean Thomson of Nikiski. She wore a shimmering, white crepe, satin gown of her own design and carried a bouquet of long-stem calla lilies with a mix of beige and purple lilacs.
The groom is the son of Steven and Theresa Carter of Nikiski. He wore a black pin-stripe suit with a champagne-colored necktie.
Alana Bute and Kassie Thomson were the maids of honor and Jennifer Fosse and Michelle Maguire were the bride's maids. They wore champagne-colored dresses in different designs made for them by the bride, and they carried miniature versions of the bride's bouquet.
Travis Lehl was the best man and John Trotter was the groomsman.
Guest soloist Billie Rae Parrish performed the couple's first song, "Amazed."
A dinner reception was held prior to the ceremony in the bride's parents' front yard.
Honored guests included Jim and Kitty Weidman of Oregon, Emma Thomson of Oregon, Thelma Carter of Montana, John Sampson of California, Jennifer Fosse of Hawaii, Lara Hornbuckle of South Africa, Corie Weaver of Oregon, and Michelle and Sean Maguire of Nevada.
The couple plans to honeymoon in Hawaii this winter. They live in Anchorage.
