Sears Elementary School

Posted: Sunday, August 15, 2004

History: Built in 1968, Sears Elementary School now serves about 310 students in kindergarten through second grade with an emphasis on themed units and an integration of art into traditional subjects.

After a trial run at magnet classrooms focusing on art and music and science, the school staff helped kick off a new charter school opening this fall on the premises.

For more on the charter school, see the profile for the Kaleidoscope School of the Arts and Sciences.
