Former Kenai resident backs Binkley

Posted: Tuesday, August 15, 2006

I am writing to share my desire to have John Binkley as our next governor.

I was born in Anchorage, grew up in Kenai and now make Fairbanks my home and am proud to know John Binkley. He has great concern for all of Alaska and the ability, respect and experience to lead our state.

Please do not allow your thoughts of the current Fairbanksan running the state affect the important decision to choose John Binkley, they are not cut of the same cloth.

John has already made a huge difference in Alaskans’ lives. He has been an effective volunteer-spokesperson-promoter of Alaska family wellness. We all share in his success as the Alaska Railroad has turned profitable and Eldorado Gold Mine expands Fairbanks’ appeal as a tourist destination.

Binkley is qualified to be an immediately effective leader for all Alaskans. He has the vision to see beyond the current hype. He has the guts to make hard choices for the good of long-term Alaska. Binkley has the smarts to grow and protect the resources of Alaska and has the stamina to lead our state. Binkley has respect for Alaskans and loyalty to always listen to our concerns.

Personally, I prefer a governor that will run our state, not just ride it.
