Kasilof resident Danny Neal Hansen died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident near Cooper Landing. He was 45.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai. His brother, Nick Hansen, will officiate at the service.
Mr. Hansen was born Sept. 23, 1954, at American Falls, Idaho, to Eugene and Della Hansen. He moved with his family to Alaska in 1961 and graduated high school in Kenai.
He served in U.S. Air Force from Aug. 14, 1973 to March 14, 1975, during Vietnam. He had lived in Soldotna and also at his house on North Cohoe Loop. He worked as a construction worker and as a farmer, in the canneries, and also for his father in hunting and guide service.
Mr. Hansen was an active member of the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.). He enjoyed playing the guitar and riding motorcycles and horses.
He is survived by his parents of Soldotna; brothers, Nick Hansen, of Soldotna, Dennis Hansen, of Vacaville, Calif.; sister, Nancy Chaney of Dixon, Calif.; many nieces and nephews.
