FAIRBANKS (AP) -- A Fairbanks man who was charged with sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl was sentenced to two years in prison.
Eric Nelson, 21, was arrested last year on charges he had sex with the girl on July 30, 2000. According to a police and court documents, Nelson and the girl had a relationship that led to sexual contact on at least one occasion. In addition, Nelson was charged with supplying the girl with marijuana.
He was indicted on two counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor and one count of third-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance. As part of a plea agreement, he pleaded no contest to one lesser count of second-degree attempted sexual abuse of a minor. The other charges were dismissed.
Nelson declined to speak about the case during Tuesday's hearing in Superior Court.
