Disabled vets to meet

The Disabled Veterans of America will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the American Legion bingo hall in Kenai. For more information, call 283-3889.

Food drive revs up

The Kenai Peninsula Racing Lions will hold a food drive night at the motorcross race at 7 p.m. Saturday at Twin Cities Raceway on the Kenai Spur Highway. Time trials begin at 6 p.m. Adults may bring one can of food to attend for a discounted price of $5. Admission for children and seniors with one can of food is $3. Donations will benefit the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank. For more information, call 262-3111.

KPC barbecue set

Kenai Peninsula College will host a welcome-back community barbecue from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 24 on the campus. Free food and entertainment will be available.

Walk-in college registration will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 25 or register online at www.kpc.alaska.edu. The first day of classes will be held Aug. 28. For more information, call 262-0330.
