Tara Colleen O'Brien and Jamie T. Harris of Nikiski were married at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 7 at the North Star United Methodist Church in Nikiski.
John Henrey officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Tim and Roberta O'Brien of Nikiski. She attended Nikiski Middle-Senior High School and completed level A child development at the Job Corps in Palmer. She wore an empire-waist chiffon gown and carried purple and white roses.
The groom is the son of Buddy and Joreen Harris of Nikiski. He is a 1993 graduate of Nikiski Middle-Senior High School. He joined the Navy in March 1994 and was honorably discharged in 1998. In 1999 he was hired as a firefighter for the Nikiski Fire Department.
The matron of honor was Amanda C. McGahan of Nikiski, the bride's best friend, who wore a lilac gown. The bridesmaids were Jackie Brewer of Nikiski and Traci Erin O'Brien and Kerry Shea O'Brien of Nikiski, the bride's sisters. Like the maid of honor, they carried purple and white roses with silver baby's breath.
The flower girls were Kyrah P. Bruce of Anchorage, Alexus Miller of Anchorage, Skylynn Nunley and Angela Nunley of Nikiski.
Gail V. White Jr. of Nikiski was the best man. Ritchie Patterson of Nikiski, brother-in-law of the groom, Don Johnon of Nikiski and Joey Hensley of Soldotna were the groomsmen. The ring bearers were the couple's older sons, Brendan Trey and Justin Hunter.
Alison Krauss sang "When You Say Nothing At All" during the ceremony.
A reception was held at the Nikiski Senior Citizens Center.
The couple honeymooned at the Alaskan Suites in Homer. They are building a log home on Freda Drive in Nikiski, where they live with their three sons, Brendan, Justin and Dylan Timothy.
