KPC plans one-day closure

All divisions of the Kenai Peninsula College will be closed today for faculty and staff convocation. It will reopen for regular business hours Thursday.

Montessori presentation slated

There will be a free presentation about Montessori education at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Challenger Learning Center of Alaska in Kenai. Tim Seldin, president of the International Montessori Foundation and author, will be the featured speaker. His topic will be the importance of quality early childhood education. Garage sale fund-raiser slated

The Peninsula Moose Lodge Family Center will hold a garage and bake sale fund-raiser from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the lodge next to the C Plaza in Kenai. For more information, call 283-3740.

Yard sale fund-raiser slated

CIRCAC to meet

The Cook Inlet Regional Citizens Advisory PROPS committee will meet at 11 a.m. Monday at the CIRCAC building at 910 Highland St. in Kenai. It is open to the public.

Shooting, hunting seminar on target

The Snowshoe Gun Club will host Kenai Peninsula Shooting and Hunting Day from noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 27 at the club. Families will be able to try different styles and types of shooting. Also seminars and demonstrations are planned. There is no cost. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and pets are not allowed.

KPC seeks council reps

Kenai Peninsula College is seeking representatives to serve on the College Council. The council serves in a public advisory role for the college.
