ANCHORAGE (AP) -- The federal Small Business Administration will be staffing disaster aid offices in eleven western Alaska communities this month to help those affected by low salmon numbers this summer.

The agency is providing loans for working capital that carry an interest rate of 4 percent. The loans will be available to fishermen and other businesses hurt by the low fish returns.

Disaster aid officials will be available at various times next week and the week after in Nome, St. Michael, Unalakleet, Holy Cross, Aniak, Bethel, Kwigillingok, Nunapitchuk, Emmonak, Kotlik, and Mountain Village.
