ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Two people died Thursday or Friday in a plane crash near Skwentna, Federal Aviation Administration officials said late Friday.
The plane, a PA-18 Piper Cub, was apparently overdue when it did not return to Skwentna, about 70 miles northwest of Anchorage, Thursday night. Searchers found the wreckage about 9 p.m. Friday.
Officials did not release the names of the two people who died, pending notification of relatives.
FAA officials planned to investigate the incident Saturday.
