Kenai resident Fraser Ali Sandoz died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, in Sterling. He was 48.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the American Legion Post in Kenai. His ashes will be scattered in the Kasilof River at a later date.
Mr. Sandoz was born May 29, 1954, in Tacoma, Wash. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps beginning in 1974. He served during Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1979.
Mr. Sandoz moved to Alaska in 1990, residing in Anchorage. He moved to Kenai in June 1994, where he worked for Akeela Treatment Services. He retired in 1999.
He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, baseball and his dogs.
Mr. Sandoz was preceded in death by his father, Ali June Sandoz, and a sister, Sarah Sandoz.
He is survived by his son, David Sandoz and his wife, Jessica, of Bellingham, Wash.; daughters, Heather Fron of Bellingham and Jesse and Samantha Sandoz of Kenai; mother, Ann Sandoz of Bellevue, Wash.; sister, Jolie Sandoz of Olympia, Wash.; brother, Cory Sandoz of Seattle; and grandchildren, Tracee Sandoz, Micheal David Fron, Sharon-Marie Fron, Alexaundra Sandoz and Kathryn Sandoz.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Fraser Sandoz Memorial Fund, Wells Fargo Bank, account No. 5407835270.
