Ninilchik woman completes massage school
Tasha Leman of Ninilchik graduated Aug. 8 from the Arizona School of Massage Therapy in Tempe, Ariz. The daughter of Dan and Jamie Leman of Ninilchik, Tasha graduated from Ninilchik High School in 2002, then attended Southwestern Oregon Community College, where she played basketball. She later returned to Ninilchik for six months before moving to Arizona, where she currently lives.
Area youth enlist in Army
Dustin L. Abel of Nikiski has enlisted in the U.S. Army's Delayed Entry Program as an armor crewman. He will leave for basic training at Fort Knox in Kentucky on Oct. 21.
Abel is a 2003 graduate of Nikiski High School and son of Dale T. Abel of Moody, Texas, and Dionja J. Jackson of Nikiski.
Loren V. Freeman has enlisted in the U.S. Army's Delayed Entry Program as a M2/3 Bradley fighting vehicle systems maintainer and will leave for basic training at Fort Knox in Kentucky on Oct. 8.
Freeman attended Skyview High School and received his general equivalency diploma from the University of Alaska in 1997. He is the son of Robert V. Freeman of Florence, Ariz., and brother of Lance P. Freeman of Kenai.
Soldotna woman graduates from UAA
Jodi Marie Stuart of Soldotna graduated May 4 from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a bachelor's degree in English and an emphasis in literature. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and graduated with cum laude honors. She is the daughter of Floyd and Esthe Frost of Soldotna.
