Area chambers set schedules

Jeremy Zidek with the Better Business Bureau of Alaska will be the featured speaker at noon Tuesday at the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce luncheon at the Riverside House in Soldotna. For more information, call Michelle at 262-9814.

Tye comes to Kenai

Motivational speaker Joe Tye will be the featured speaker from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. Business contest running

Friends of the Homer Library and the Kenai Peninsula Economic Development District (KPEDD) are sponsoring a contest for new business ideas.

The contest is open to anyone living on the peninsula. Cash prizes will be awarded; $1,000 for first place; $600 for first runner-up; and $400 for second runner-up.

Professional assistance will be provided to develop the business plans of top finishers. Entry forms are available at KPEDD in Kenai, Wells Fargo in Homer or the Homer Chamber of Commerce.
