This photograph won 7-year-old Robin Glosser of Homer a national ranking at the ImageMakers National Photography Competition. Glosser is a member of the Boys and Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula, where she competed in a clubwide contest and regional competition for digital photography.
She advanced to the national level and won an all-expenses-paid trip to the ESPN Summer X Games in Philadelphia last weekend. Her photo was honored at the First Union Complex, the main venue for the X Games.
In addition, ImageMakers winners received new digital cameras donated by Nikon and special X Games Youth Photojournalist credentials, giving them access to photograph events ranging from skateboarding to bicycle stunt riding.
ImageMakers, a program developed by the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Circuit City, is part of a comprehensive initiative promoting young peoples creativity in the media of photography, as well as encouraging artistic skills and cultural enrichment.
