KOTZEBUE (AP) The body of a Kotzebue man was recovered Sunday after his boat was found adrift north of the community.

Paul Pansch, 37, apparently drowned. No autopsy is planned.

Pansch left work in his skiff just after midnight Saturday. Troopers said he lived at the end of the community's spit.

Two co-workers were returning to Kotzebue from Noatak and when they entered the spit area, they spotted the unmanned boat. They recognized it as Pansch's and immediately called Kotzebue Search and Rescue.

Kotzebue Search and Rescue called troopers at 12:45 a.m.

Searchers recovered Pansch's body at 3:15 p.m. Sunday.

Troopers found no evidence of foul play.
