Mayors conference starts today in Kenai

The Alaska Municipal League will sponsor the Alaska Conference of Mayors today through Saturday at the Challenger Learning Center of Alaska in Kenai.

Conference sessions, which include discussions with legislators, development of League platforms and board meetings, are open to the public. The schedule is as follows:

Today

8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: Legislative committee general meeting

1 to 5 p.m.: Legislative committee break-out sessions

5 p.m.: Reception at the Kenai Convention and Visitors Bureau

Friday

8 to 11 a.m.: Subcommittee work continues

11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: Rep. Mary Kapsner to speak at group lunch

1:30 to 5 p.m.: Joint session on 2004 Draft Policy and Platform Statements

Saturday

8 a.m. to noon: Alaska Conference of Mayors meeting with Kapsner

Noon: Mayors lunch with AML board of directors.
