Sign-happy candidates don’t deserve to be elected

An open letter to candidates for political office:

With elections still a long way off, wealready face the visual pollution of political signs. These signs clutter the roadsides and detract significantly from the beauty of the peninsula.

If a candidate cares so little about the appearance of our community that he or sheerects these signs this early thenthat candidatedefinitely does not deserve to be elected to public office. I am prepared to reluctantly accept these signs close to elections, but to place them out so earlyis simply irresponsible. I will never vote for a candidate that does so, no matter how much I agree with his or her positions on other issues.

Also, even within a reasonable time of the elections (say three weeks), the larger your signs, the less likely I am to vote for you. I am sure others feel the same way.
